Hiking in the Smokies: John Oliver Cabin

One of our favorite places to visit in the Smokies is Cades Cove.  It is a beautiful, 11 mile drive through a peaceful cove.  Along the way there our several cabins that you may stop and explore.  The very first cabin that you come to on the Cades Cove Loop road is the John Oliver Cabin.
The cabin is hidden from view of the road when your first approach it, but there is a parking lot and signs to tell you where you are.  There is a short trail up to the cabin.  I nice little walk.
You may go inside and explore and get a feel of what it would have been like to live there decades ago.
It is a great place for a family outing, and for the kids to explore.  The views from the cabin looking out over the Cove are incredible and it is wonderful and peaceful to just gaze over the beauty of the mountains.
