Fun with the Family

I love my family. I love my kids.  I love finding family fun things to do with my kids, especially during school breaks.  Sometimes it can be challenging to find activities that all four kids enjoying doing together.  Some of our favorite family activities include escaping to the mountains to play, relax and explore.  We are blessed to have the Great Smoky Mountains in our backyard.  My kids and I have been on a lot of hiking adventures together.   This picture shows our triumphant arrival at Abraham’s Falls.  This is a popular hike for those who are on family vacations or simply want a brisk and slightly challenging walk through the woods.  I wasn’t quite prepared for how steep in got in some places, but it was fun none the less.  (my son was with us also, but he was in one of those “I refuse to have my picture taken” moods.  I am sure you have experienced those)
I love to be able to get silly and have fun with my family.  Last year it snowed and snowed in the mountains, but not at home.  We took a quick drive up to Cades Cove and we were able to play in about 8 inches of snow.  It was beautiful.  Pristine and untouched.  Piled high on the picnic tables, fresh and fluffy.  Perfect for winter fun.
Sometimes, we like to add variety to our family fun.  When we get in that mood we head a few minutes in the other direction to find some things to do in Pigeon Forge.  Every time we drive on the parkway the Pigeon Forge attractions catch the attention of my children.  The attractions are incredible, fun and alluring.  In my opinion, the most fun attractions are those that are interactive.  They keep the kids engaged and help make memories.  The last time we were cruising the parkway the
Hollywood Wax Museum caught our eye.  (Check out their Facebook page!)
So the next time we are up in Pigeon Forge, this will be a definate stop.  What fun to take pictures with celebrities, and be able to get up close and “personal” with them.  It sounds like a real treat and just the kind of family fun our crew really enjoys.

I was selected for this opportunity as a member of Clever Girls Collective and the content and opinions expressed here are all my own.

Great post.. if you would like to play in more snow.. Welcome as we have at least 2-3 feet of snow on the ground all winter.. We get close to 300 inches per winter.

We just went to the wax museum in Hollywood over the summer. The kids had a great time and we took so many photos “with the celebrities”! As for the snow, well, lets just say “been there, left that behind!” I choose to live in a warmer climate now.
