Oakes Farm Pumpkin Patch and Corn Maze

“My family was given complimentary admission.  However, all opinions are my own.”
Oakes FarmOur family has a fun Fall tradition that we would love to share with you today and that is our annual trip to the Oakes Farm Corn Maze in Corryton, Tennessee.  We love this farm and all the activities it has to offer.  I love that we can pay one admission price and get to enjoy all the “Back 40″ activities including the corn maze.  For just $5 more we can pick out a pumpkin while taking and fun and relaxing hay ride.

Oakes Farm 2

There are over 25 activities to try out, so I will just highlight some of our favorites.  The “Rat Racers” were a hit with us.  Giant tubes that you can crawl in and push or walk to move it up and down the yard.  My kids loved these and we could have probably played here all day if it were not for some other fabulous things to do!

Oakes Farm 1The bounce pillow is so fun!  Even I couldn’t resist giving it a try.  It was amazing to bounce around laughing and giggling with my kids.  It is amazing how high you can get.  We did this one at least twice!

Oakes Farm 4

Of course we couldn’t resist a race around the track on the giant pedal cars.  They have kid and adult sizes so everyone can have fun.  I love trying to beat my kids around the track.  I don’t think I ever won though.  This is one of the things I love best about the Oakes Farm.  Adults can be a kid and experience a good portion of the activities right along with the kids.  We spent over 5 hours at the farm and were totally worn out by the time we got home, but we loved it!

Oakes Farm 3We couldn’t leave without a trip on the hayride to the pumpkin patch to pick out the perfect pumpkin to carve this year.  My kids always go for the biggest pumpkins they can find and have a little competition about it.  Everyone left happy with the pumpkin they choose though.

Oakes Farm 5The highlight of our trip this year had to be the corn maze.  We spent hours in there!  Oakes Farm offers 3 different mazes.  One for the wee little ones and then two others.  Our favorite maze was the #1-6 side.  We had to find 6 number stations and punch our card, plus it had a Farm Scene Investigation game.  We had to find 6 picture tiles with a suspect, weapon and place to try and figure out who had taken the Farmer.  This was a little more difficult than finding the number points, because they were not listed on the map.  But, we finally were successful in discovering the mystery of who do it!  So much fun!

Oakes Farm also offers food and drinks for sale, if you get hungry or thirsty, which you are bound to do after playing so hard.

If you want to have a great time as a family I would head to Oakes Farm this Fall.  It is just 12 miles North of Knoxville, Tennessee.  Please check their website for when they are open.

We will definitely be back next year.
