Family is my #1 priority. Every week we set aside Monday night for Family Night. We sing songs, have lessons, and then do a fun activity. Many times our activity is playing a fun board game. It has been a while since we have bought a new game, so while I was shopping at Walmart I thought it was a good time to add some new games to our game basket. My kids had never played Hasbro® Monopoly® and we didn’t have Jenga®, so I thought these games would be fun. My kids were so excited to have Monopoly® that they opened it as soon as we got home.
To make this game night even more fun I thought I would make up some simple treats. While at Walmart I also picked up a big bag of Peanut M&M’s® because I had some fun and easy treat ideas swirling around in my head.
I made some Peanut M&M’s® brownies and Peanut M&M’s® Family Game Night Medals. It is always fun to have a good treat for family game night and M&M’s® are one of our favorites. For the brownies I simply made up my favorite brownie recipe (see below) and added 1/2 a cup of peanut M&M’s®, chopped. Then I took a white icing and created a simple game board on the brownies and used M&M’s® for the game pieces.
For the medals, I separated out the colors of yellow, red and orange, placed them in a sandwich baggie and tied it with a nice red ribbon. My kids were really excited to see the medals and couldn’t wait to try and win one.
We had a lot of fun playing with our new games. Our Jenga® tower got higher than anyone thought it could. Everyone was nervous when their turn came around. Of course it was me that finally knocked it down!
Monopoly® can get fierce. We love to wheel and deal with each other. It is great game to help the kids learn how to count money, make deals and have a great time. My husband is the ultimate Monopoly® player and I have a hard time even coming close to beating him. One of these day I will!
We had smiles galore when we awarded the medals for the winners of game night! I love to have fun with my family and we always look forward to game night. Walmart has a great coupon on M&M’s® right now to help you save money on your next family game night.
