Streusel Topped Blueberry Muffins

streusel topped blueberry muffinsOur family loves blueberries.  My husband’s grandmother had a blueberry patch in Mississippi.  Every Summer we would take a trip to her house and pick buckets and bowls of juicy, ripe blueberries.  I would take them home and freeze them to use throughout the year.  Now we have a pick-your-own patch that we enjoy going to every year so we can have a good blueberry supply in the freezer.  I love to put blueberries in oatmeal and smoothies and I never pass up a good blueberry cobbler. But one of my favorite  recipes is this one for streusel topped blueberry muffins.

blueberry muffins  They are full of great spices and goodness and the taste is melt in your mouth incredible.  The streusel topping is buttery rich and when it cools it becomes a little crispy, giving the muffin an amazing texture.  You can use either fresh or frozen blueberries.  If you use frozen blueberries, there is no need to thaw them.  Just add them to the recipe frozen.  They are so pretty to look at and they also fill your home with a fabulous aroma.  This will quickly become your favorite blueberry muffin recipe.
