 On the weekends I like to treat my family to some great pizza.  It is something we all look forward to.  Sometimes we order pizza, but our favorite way is to make a good homemade pizza pie.  Recently I was looking through the Publix “Ready Plan Save” website and came across this wonderful recipe for Tuscan Broccoli pizza.

I have never tried broccoli on pizza, but since we are trying to eat more green vegetables at our house, I knew I had to try this recipe. Right now Publix is having an amazing Viva Italia sale which means that you can make this meal for a great price! For this recipe you will need:

  • 1bag (11.8 oz) Green Giant™ Seasoned Steamers™ frozen Tuscan seasoned broccoli
  • 1can (13.8 oz) Pillsbury™ refrigerated classic pizza crust
  • 1tablespoon olive oil
  • 1clove garlic, finely chopped
  • 1cup (3 oz) sliced fresh mushrooms
  • 1/2cup sliced sun-dried tomatoes in oil
  • 1 1/2cups (6 oz) shredded Italian cheese blend
  • 1/2teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes, if desired

    Heat oven to 400°F. Grease large dark cookie sheet with shortening or cooking spray.

    Cook broccoli as directed on bag; cool 10 minutes.

    Meanwhile, unroll dough on cookie sheet; press into 15×12-inch rectangle. Bake about 8 minutes or until light golden brown.

    In small bowl, mix oil and garlic. Brush on pizza crust. Top with mushrooms, broccoli, tomatoes, cheese and pepper flakes.

    Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until crust is deep golden brown and cheese is melted. Cut into squares.

Using the Pillsbury ready made pizza crust and Green Giant Tuscan Seasoned broccoli made this recipe super quick to put together.  Perfect for Friday night pizza night.  You simply unroll the dough.  Spread on the toppings, pop it in the oven and Viola! (The printable recipe is below)
