I love smoothies.  In fact, most nights my husband and I settle down to watch a show and enjoy a smoothie after we have the kiddos put to bed.  I also like to make a smoothie on a hectic morning after a workout.  I also like them for a quick lunch.  I also like them for a delicious snack.  Can you tell I like smoothies?  In fact I have a space in the freezer dedicated to smoothie fixin’s.  That’s where I keep frozen ripe bananas, strawberries, grapes, oranges, blueberries, and spinach.  That way I know right where to look when I am whipping up a smoothie.

While I was out at Walmart with my mom we saw the Oster® Blend-N-Go® MyBlend®.  I thought this would be the perfect tool to make smoothies because you can just fill, blend & go, all in the same container!  I also picked up some Jif Peanut Powder and Dannon Oikos Triple Zero Greek Nonfat Yogurt. The Jif Peanut Powder has 85% less fat than traditional peanut butter and it is great for baking and smoothies.  I love it because it has no added sugar!   The Dannon Oikos Yogurt had 0 fat, 0 added sugar and 0 artificial sweeteners – plus 15g of protein per 5.3oz. It is packed with protein, but it is not a low calorie food.

 I was very excited to get home to try the Oster® Blend-N-Go® MyBlend® and create a protein packed smoothie.  The printable recipe is below, but my smoothie included a frozen banana, 1/2 cup frozen blueberries, 2 TBL Cocoa Powder, 2 TBL Jif Peanut Powder, 1/4 cup frozen spinach, 1/2 cup Dannon (Vanilla) Oikos Triple Zero Greek Nonfat Yogurt,   and 1 cup of water.

Simply place all the ingredients in the Oster® Blend-N-Go® MyBlend® and blend it.  I would suggest putting the yogurt in last.  I put my yogurt in first and it had a hard time incorporating it into the smoothie at first.  I know that problem would have been fixed had I added it as my last ingredient (before the water).  The Oster® Blend-N-Go® MyBlend® did a great job blending up all the frozen produce and incorporated everything well.  It was also super handy that I could just pop on the to go top and take my smoothie where ever I wanted.  No transferring to another container.

 The smoothie had a great flavor and texture with the Peanut Powder and yogurt.  It was so good, my kids kept tasting it and wanted to have the whole thing!

This recipe is quick and easy.  Perfect for a busy morning, afternoon or evening.  The Oster My-Blend is wonderful for making smoothies quickly.  It is so fun in fact, I know my daughter will be taking one to college in the Fall.

Protein Packed Smoothie

Servings 1


  • 1 Frozen Banana
  • 1/2 Cup Blueberries
  • 2 TBL Cocoa Powder
  • 2 TBL Jif Peanut Powder
  • 1/2 Cup Oikos Triple Zero Greek Nonfat Yogurt
  • 1 cup cold water


  1. Add ingredients to the blender in the order shown
  2. Blend until well incorporated.
