All opinions are mine alone. #BTSwithHP #CollectiveBiasThe end of this month I will have a college student headed out of town to attend school. I have never experienced this before, so I am feeling a little overwhelmed. What will she need while she is away from home? Once I think about that question I my head starts spinning because I feel like we should pack up the entire house! I knew that I needed a starting place to get going, so I decided to focus on one big essential piece that she would need for the first week, a computer. From there I could begin to make a list of first week college essentials.
I figured that every college student needs a computer. They need them to write papers, do research, some of their texts books are digital, it is a good way to keep in contact and she can enjoy a little entertainment by watching movies and videos. I decided to go look at Walmart to see what computers they had to offer and go from there. When I was in the store I noticed that they had a great variety of all new, affordable HP computers to choose from. The HP Pavilion 360 Convertible model looked like the perfect tool for my college student.
The HP Pavilion 360 Convertible computer has everything my college girl will need. The screen has a 360 degree hinge so it can shift easily between 4 modes. My daughter loves that it has a touch screen and she can flip the screen around and use it like a tablet. The computer is also super light and has a long battery life making it easy to tote around a college campus. The sound is awesome too, with AP audio boost and tuning to deliver great sound when you watch videos or movies.
With this amazing tool to take to college I felt like she was set, and then I remembered she would probably need a few more essentials. I started putting a basket together of things she would need for the first week. I figured that once she was at college she could figure out exactly what else she needed and what would work best, but this basket full of goodies would be enough to get her started.
Inside my basket I have:
*Twin sheets and a stylish comforter
*Towels and a hand towel
*Notebooks, pens, highlighters
*A family picture
*A little note with some vending machine money tucked inside
*A backpack with a laptop compartment
*The HP Pavilion 360 convertible
It is a very basic list, but I know that she can survive with these things for a few days while she figures out the rest to make her semester fun and comfortable.
My daughter has loved this computer already. In fact when it arrived she couldn’t wait to get it out of the box and start using it. It was an easy setup and has worked wonderful so far. She hasn’t done any school work on it yet, except to buy books and answer emails. But she has been doing a lot of social media and video watching on it. It has been incredibly fun for her.
It is always difficult to send your first child off to college with all the unknowns. I want her to be successful and comfortable and I know with this great HP computer and a few loving comforts from home she will be off to a great start.
If you have a college student this fall that has great HP computer they love be sure to visit Walmart and share your thoughts. I love when we can all help each other out and you can help other back to school shoppers with your online review.
