My son started running cross country, and decided to keep playing soccer and he is in a play and the school orchestra! Plus I still have my two other daughters at home who are involved in all sorts of things. It has gotten so busy that I must confess that I have forgotten to fix dinners and we have forgotten both a soccer practice and a soccer game! That is one reason I was so excited when I learned about these great Welch’s Graham Slam! Grape PB&J graham cracker sandwiches.
I found them at Walmart on a recent shopping excursion. You can find them at your local Walmart, right next to the other PB&J items in the frozen section. Welch’s Graham Slam! comes in both grape and strawberry flavors. They are a great snack with crisp graham crackers spread with peanut butter and jelly. They are a snack that can fill you up because each cracker sandwich contains 7 grams of protein, 12 grams of whole grain and No high fructose corn syrup. The fun thing is is that you can eat them either frozen or thawed! They taste great either way. I confess that I broke into one of these while shooting the pictures for this post and it was really good! And it really did fill me up, so I know that they are perfect for a snack any time, and great for on the go.
Because we have been so busy lately I decided I that I would make some reusable snack bags that I can keep filled with fun snacks, like Welch’s Graham Slam!, a bottle of water and a piece of fruit for the kids to grab when we are running out the door. No more hungry kids!
-a piece of clear vinyl 8 1/2″ x 23 ”
-parachute cord in a 32″ length
-sewing machine and thread
Sew up the sides of the bag with a zig zag stitch. Then mark the middle of the top of one side of the bag. Sew a zig zig stitch box 1 1/2″ wide and 1/2″ tall. With the seam ripper carefully cut two vertical slits about 3/4″ away from each other. This will be for your cord to run through. Fold over the top of the bag about 1″. Thread the cord through one of the slits and into the fold of the top of the bag and through the other slit. Now you will zig zag stitch the edge of the fold, making sure not to sew the cord at all. This creates your drawstring. Now you have your easy sew reusable snack bag.
You can fill them up with snacks of your choice, like Welch’s Graham Slam!, and have them ready to go. Because they are vinyl they are easy to wash out and reuse. I also added a name tag to mine so my kids will know exactly whose is whose! They are also great to keep in the fridge ready to go at a moments notice.
Right now there is a printable coupon for Welch’s Graham Slam! You can find it HERE. It is available while supplies last so hurry on over to print yours.
