Kat Varland holds a secret desire to own her own bakery and use her great creativity to make amazing and unique cupcakes. However, she is stuck in a vanilla rut at working at her Aunt Maggie’s bakery. She feels like her family doesn’t support her in anything she does and she is afraid to break out on her own.
Her best friend, Lucas Brannen, enters her in a TV cupcake bake-off where the main prizes is the ticket to make all of Kat’s dreams come true. Things don’t turn out as planned however, and Kat’s future has never looked more bleak.
I really enjoyed this book. In fact I had a hard time putting it down. Once I got into the story I kept wanting to turn to the page to see what happened. Betsy St. Amant is a wonderful author who really brought the struggles and successes of each character to life. In addition to the characters the settings were wonderfully written and made me feel like I was there. This book has it all romance and intrigue, sabotage and hometown pride. This book was such a good read, I sent one to my mother to enjoy reading.
I received this book in exchange for a review. However, all opinions are my own.
