PJ McKinley has dreams of opening her own restaurant and Bed and Breakfast. Cole Evans wants to give back by opening a home for kids aging out of the foster system. Both of their dreams collide and have a chance to come true when the owner of a local historic home announces a contest in which the winner will be given the property. She gives both PJ and Cole a chance to live together in the home for a year to see who will be the biggest success and therefore win. It’s a battle between them that gets confusing in the emotion of it all.
The author Denise Hunter wrote a very unique story line. I quickly got to know the characters PJ and Cole and understand their motives. The plot is a bit unusual with the two using the home at the same time but for totally different purposes. I did enjoy how the two main characters came to know each other and really look out for each others interests. It was an enjoyable and good feel good read.
I was given a copy of the book to review. However, all opinions are my own
