Easy Graduation Party Ideas

May 26, 2017 By Kallee Leave a Comment

Great ideas for decorations, food, & a great idea for using old homework to celebrate! #ad

This post is sponsored by Oriental Trading, however, all opinions are my owngraduation party 11We had our second high school senior this year and we knew we had to put on a big celebration for graduation.  May is a super busy time of year so even though I wanted it to be spectacular, I also wanted it to be easy.  With the help of Oriental Trading I was able to come up with some easy graduation party ideas.

We decided that we would host her friends on a weeknight just before graduation for a homework burning party.  We would also serve roasted hot dogs, chips, soda and s’mores for dinner.  It was a casual fun evening that everyone could enjoy.

graduation party 7Nothing says party like great decorations and I found some wonderful ones at Oriental trading.  Plus they had options in our school colors.  Outside we hung up patio lights around the fire pit and added these fun graduation cap lanterns.

We also had fun party favors for everyone to enjoy like bubbles and graduation cap suckers.  The suckers were easy to display.

graduation partyI simply placed a styrofoam ball in red tissue paper and put it in a decorative bucket and stuck the graduation suckers in nicely.  These little treats were really a hit with our guests.

The decorations were easy to hang up and having here school colors really made it splash.

graduation party 2We love to have homework burning parties every year, but we wanted to make this an extra special one for graduation.  There is nothing more freeing than throwing a load of homework and the fire and watching it burn!

graduation party 12We have learned that it is such a popular thing to do that it is good to tell your guests to bring now more than 20 pieces.  Trust me, we have had boxes and boxes of homework show up and there is no way to burn it all safely.  It is so fun to see the kids reminisce about their assignments.  They remember them all, each with different emotions.

graduation party 9Roasted hot dogs and chips were served on this fun dinner ware that comes all together and it ready to go.  I can’t believe how the time flies by with my kids.  I love any reason to celebrate their successes.  We had a great graduation party.  Great food, decor, fun and friends.
