Our family own’s 3 properties (our house, rental house and a vacation cabin) and we have 3 cars that we use to get ourselves to all the places we need to be. The best way to keep our properties and vehicles looking nice and running well is to perform routine maintenance on them. With everything that we own we have a lot of maintenance to remember.
Allstate has made it easier for us to remember what needs to be done to our home and our cars with their Maintenance reminder. Anyone is welcome to use this tool, you do not need to be an Allstate customer. I have played around with it a bit and it is truly easy to use.
First, just set up your account. There are several ways to do this, including using your twitter or Facebook accounts. Anyway you sign up it is quick and easy. Then add your properties and vehicles and it will give you a list of routine maintenance that is suggested for them. For your home, it is things like: changing your air filter, cleaning the gutters, changing out the batteries in your smoke alarm, cleaning out your dryer vent etc. All very important things that are easy to get overlooked and forgotten. For your car the maintenance is checking your brake pads, having the oil changed, changing the wiper blades, checking the tire pressure etc. Each time you do these things you can mark it as complete. Then, the best part is, you can sign up to get alerts to your mobile phone or your email to remind you of what maintenance is due for both your car and home. I think that is probably my favorite feature of this tool.
The Allstate Maintenance Reminder is a wonderful tool to help keep up with the things you have done in your home and for your car to keep them “healthy”. These are expensive investments for your family so you want to treat them right and keep them in their best working order. Allstate also provides some quick “did you know” tips to help you take even better care of your home and vehicles. I know I appreciate anything that makes the maintenance of my car and home easier.
