We were treated to a night’s stay at the DoubleTree, however, all opinions are my own. This spring break my family was able to do a fun overnight visit to Asheville, North Carolina. It is about a 2 hour drive for us, so it was the perfect way to easily get away. Asheville is nestled in the Blue Mountains and provides gorgeous scenery, culinary delights, outdoor recreation and fantastic history. While on our adventures we were privileged to stay at the DoubleTree by Hilton Asheville-Biltmore. If you are looking to explore the amazing Biltmore Estate this hotel is extremely convenient. It is located next to the Biltmore village and is just down the street from the entrance to Biltmore Estate.
If you have never stayed at a DoubleTree hotel, then you are in for a treat. They have their signature warm chocolate chip cookies to welcome you on arrival. These cookies are baked fresh at the hotel and make the lobby smell absolutely scrumptious. It is a delightful way to start your visit. When I checked in it was a little before proper check-in time, but they had one of our rooms ready and we were allowed to go relax in there. When the other room was fresh and clean they brought the key directly to our room. It was wonderful friendly service that made me feel welcome.
The rooms were clean and comfortable. I found that the bed linens and pillows were luxurious and comfortable. I am pretty picking about my pillows and usually bring my own. However, these pillows were so fluffy soft I was able to melt right into them, which felt really good as I was fighting a cold.
The evening we arrived we had a surprise knock at our door with this amazing delivery compliments our hostess. There were more cookies, brownies, delectable local granola’s and iced bottled water. I tried to hid this treasure from the kiddos, but they found out about it!
I had a cozy night’s rest on my comfortable king-sized bed with well appointed linens. (I believe the kids enjoyed their double beds also). I liked the fact that the in-room heating and cooling was controlled by a thermostat on the wall. The thermostat helped keep the room at a temperature I was comfortable with and was easy to use. All these things made for one of the best night’s sleep I have had in a hotel.
The DoubleTree Asheville-Biltmore offers a full service breakfast buffet served in the Ducker Tea Room. The buffet was incredible and had so many offerings everyone felt quite satisfied and happy at the end of our meal. I like to try everything on the buffet and so got a little bit of everything to see what I liked best. They also have an omelet chef who prepares custom ordered omelets. Each table has omelet order pads and pencils. You simply checked of the ingredients you would like and then give the order to the chef, who delivers it to your table. Delicious indeed! The DoubleTree is loaded with other amenities as well. There is an indoor pool and hot tub that the kids enjoyed, 24 hour fitness center, in room dining, a 24 hour market place for drinks, snacks and sundries, complimentary Wi-Fi, 12,000 square feet of versatile space for meeting and events. They even display pictures and items from Biltmore Estate.
The hotel offers a shuttle service to downtown and Biltmore village. The hotel can help arrange tickets for the Asheville Trolley, which has a stop at the hotel front door. They all offer great deals on Biltmore passes. The service we encountered was all very friendly and welcoming. The hotel was clean and very comfortable with great food and extremely well located for the sightseeing we were doing. Are you ready to visit? BOOK HERE!
