I have really been loving all the feminine flowers that have started gracing the scene lately. I saw a belt with a flower on it recently and thought I could make my own version. Since I work around my home doing housework I prefer something flexible, so I made my belt with elastic.
Fold over the end of your elastic and attach a safety pin. Take the pin and push the elastic through the ribbon pushing and pulling as you go. When the tail reaches the end of the ribbon sew across the end so it doesn’t pull through. Then keep working the rest of the ribbon through. When the pin reaches out the other end take out the safety pin and sew across the top of the ribbon and the elastic to attach it.
Stack several together until you get the look you want. I chose a wonderful antique button I picked up at a yard sale to be the middle. Just attach it with a needle and thread.
I used the E-6000 glue to attach the flower to an alligator clip. I wanted to be flexible in how I used the flower, either on the belt or in my hair.
I just attached the belt around my waist and then clipped on the flower where the belt ends came together.
