I must admit that my favorite cookies are chocolate chip, but my Mom’s homemade Snickerdoodles are in the running for my favorite cookie recipe. A snickerdoodle is a wonderful sugar cookie rolled in cinnamon sugar. This recipe makes the cookie both soft and chewy with a little crisp crunch as you bite into it. It is wonderful, in fact I can never eat just one. Also, whenever I eat one of these cookies it reminds me of being a little girl and helping my mom make these cookies. I would help roll the dough into balls and then roll the ball in a bowl of cinnamon sugar. I may even have licked my fingers a bit, which made it all the more wonderful!
This recipe is quick and easy to make, plus it makes a lot of cookies which makes it great to take to a potluck. Sometimes I roll the dough into smaller balls than usual to make smaller cookies, to feed an even bigger crowd. I hope you enjoy this recipe. I know it will be a keeper!
