I am right in the middle of training for my first half marathon. It has been quite a journey and it still continues to give me challenges. There are good runs, bad runs, and days where I wish I didn’t have to run! However I am feeling I always do better when someone gives me a little encouragement. With the weather getting colder and my runs getting longer I thought it would be fun to put together a little encouragement present for anyone who is struggling through their training program. Sometimes all it takes to keep going is a little “You can do it!” cheer from someone else.
While I was checking out at Walmart the other day I noticed these great looking goodnessknows® snack squares at the checkout. I discovered that they have 3 wonderful flavors:
goodnessknows® Cranberry, Almond, Dark Chocolate,
goodnessknows® Apple, Almond & Peanut, Dark Chocolate
goodnessknows® Peach & Cherry, Almond, Dark Chocolate.
I thought these would be the perfect starting point for an encouragement gift. goodnessknows® is also holding a sweepstake with over $2500. Follow the link for a chance to win! #tryalittlegoodnesssweepstakes
The goodnessknows® snack squares are designed with real fruits, whole nuts and dark chocolate. They are made with the thought that doing a little good for ourselves goes along way. I especially like the fact that they contain no artificial colors or sweeteners and no high fructose corn syrup. The goodnessknows® snack squares cranberry, almond and dark chocolate variety is one that I have been enjoying. It has a crunchy, chewy, sweet, tart and slightly salty taste all rolled together which is simply wonderful.
To put together my running essentials encouragement gift I found some running gloves that work great in cold weather. You will want to find some that wick away the sweat and keep your hands dry. I placed them in a clear cellophane bag as my base. Then I added some hand warmers. This will be great to use after a long run in cold weather. I know as soon as I stop running I get cold really quickly. These will help stave off the chill. Next is a non-slip hairband. I love to keep my hair out of my face while exercising. A cute, functional headband is a must. To top all of it off are some goodnessknows® snack squares. There is nothing I like better after a long run than to fuel my body quickly. The snack squares are awesome because they taste great and they are divided up into 4 easy to eat squares. To finish it off tie the bag together with a piece of twine and add a simple note of encouragement.
goodnessknows® snack squares are a great pick me up after a good run. I have a coupon to share with you also, just follow this link. What is your favorite way to exercise?
Super cool! Love this idea! Never heard of those bars! I’ll have to check them out! By the way I buy those exact headbands at Marshall’s! They are about the only ones I have kept from the different ones I have tried! I love that they are thick and don’t squeeze my head but still hold my hair and sweat back!
Love the headbands too! I found mine at TJMax
I love the little kit you put together! Great set of essentials for any runner! (client)
