I am so excited that Christmas is just around the corner. The parties, decorations, food, gifts, family and friends make it my favorite season. Some of my favorite things to do are to create fun foods and gifts to give out to friends and loved ones.
While at Sam’s Club last week I discovered these 24 packs of 355ml glass bottles of Coke de Mexico Coca-Cola (made with real sugar and no high fructose corn syrup). They also are offering 2-liter Coke and Diet Coke in a special 4-pack for $3.98 during the holiday season. My wheels started turning and I thought of a couple of things I could create with them to make some fun gifts and treats.
My first idea was to make an army of Santa Coke bottles to give away as fun little gifts. It was simple to do. All you need is:
1-24 pack of 355ml glass bottles of Coke de Mexico Coca-Cola
Red Scrapbook paper: cut into strips 1 5/8″x9″
Black electrical tape: cut into 9″ lengths
Gold Sparkle 1/2″ ribbon: cut into 1″ lengths
24 Pre-made Santa hats (find at your craft store)
Double sided tape
Wrap the red paper around the bottle and secure with tape. Add the electrical tape right around the middle. Apply the gold sparkle ribbon with the double sided tape for the buckle. Place the hat on top. (If the fit is snug, make a small slit in the brim of the hat). And Viola, you have 24 fun gifts that I know your friends and family will love.
The next fun idea is to celebrate the season with fun Coke cupcakes topped with ice cream snowballs. Don’t they look delicious? And so easy to make!
Once they are baked and cooled top them with a ball of vanilla ice cream as a snowball. Simply follow the recipe below.
Chocolate Coke Cupcakes
Ingredients
- 1 cup butter softened
- 2 1/2 cups sugar
- 4 eggs
- 1 cup milk
- 1/2 cup cocoa
- 1 cup Coke
- 3 cups flour
- 2 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp vanilla
Recipe Notes
Cream together butter and sugar until fluffy.
Add eggs one at a time to creamed mixture
Mix well
Gradually add milk.
In a separate bowl, sift together flour, baking soda & baking powder & cocoa
Gradually add to creamed mixture
Add vanilla and coke.
Mix well
Pour into prepared cupcake pan
Bake at 350 for 25-30 minutes
To dress them up even more add some festive sprinkles.
Both of these projects were so fun and easy to make. The cupcakes were a hit with my kids and their friends. We enjoyed them for family night too. They have a wonderful smooth texture and great flavor. The kids were surprised when they bit into them and experienced the Coke flavor.
The Santa Coke bottles also make perfect stocking stuffers. Wouldn’t it be fun to find a Santa Coke bottle peaking out of your stocking on Christmas morning?
However you use the 24 pack of glass bottles of Coca-Cola you will make a lot of people happy this season. What are your favorite gifts to give?
Merry Christmas!
What fun stocking stuffers! And who doesn’t love ice cream on a Coke cupcake. I bet it tasks like a Coke float. yum. Thanks for sharing! #client
These bottles are adorable, and cupcakes topped with ice cream is an idea I can really get behind. 😉
These are so cute, what a great idea, my kids would love them!
Very cute, but I would do a Kombucha bottle since I don’t drink Coke. I think it would be easily adapted. Thanks for the idea.
This is such a fun idea and you can have children participate in the making!
Clever idea! I love the real sugar Mexican Coke. Wish we had a lot more of the Throw Back beverages out there.
You made the army of bottles look really cute!
This is such fun idea! These little hats make a great decoration when they are set on the table for a party.
Oh my gosh, these are super adorable! I think I saw your pin on Pinterest! Great idea!
Kids and adults would get a kick out of the bottles and a sweet tooth satisfaction from the cupcakes. Fun stuff.
