Last Sunday we enjoyed a wonderful candle-light dinner after church. I love to relax and watch the flames of a candle. It is a wonderful way to relax from a busy week as well as rest and prepare for the coming week. As we were cleaning up the dishes I was wondering if you could really roast a marshmallow over a candle flame. I held my hand over the flame for a second until I realized how hot it really was. That is when inspiration struck. It is a small flame, why not use a mini-marshmallow? Then as I was headed to the cupboard, because I knew there just had to be at least a few mini-marshmallows hiding somewhere in there, more inspiration came. Why not use a toothpick as a roasting stick. So I quickly stuck a mini-marshmallow on a toothpick and began to roast. It was a lot of fun to be able to watch a marshmallow roast up close. At a campfire you don’t get a front row seat as the flame hits the marshmallow. You could really see it start to bubble and cook. I was fascinated by it. After I roasted to just the right amount of brown toasty yumminess I popped it in my mouth and discovered a bite sized treat of perfect yummy goodness. Soon the kids joined in and we enjoyed a good few minutes roasting mini-marshmallows on mini-roasting sticks and creating a wonderful memory.
