Pecan Fudge Bars

A wonderful shortbread crust, gooey chocolate fudge filling and amazing nutty chocolate topping
Prep Time 30 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter softened
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk 14 ounces
  • 1 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips divided
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups pecans
  • 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, beat butter until fluffy.
  2. Add the flour, sugar and salt
  3. Beat until just crumbly
  4. Press into a greased 13x9 in baking pan
  5. Bake at 350 for 13-16 minutes, until edges have set and just begin to brown
  6. Meanwhile, in a small saucepan, combine condensed milk and semi-sweet chocolate chips
  7. Cook and stir until chips are melted
  8. Remove from heat
  9. Stir in vanilla
  10. Spread melted mixture over crust
  11. Combine the pecans and dark chocolate chips in a small bowl
  12. Sprinkle over filling
  13. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until center is set
  14. Cool on a wire rack
  15. Cut into bars
