Streusel Topped Blueberry Muffins

a wonderful blueberry muffin filled with spice and topped with a buttery streusel topping.

Ingredients

Streusel Mixture

  • 1 1/3 cup flour
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup softened butter
  • 1/2 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/8 tsp cloves

Muffins

  • 2/3 cup flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 1/2 tsp nutmeg
  • 3/4 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp cloves
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2/3 cup buttermilk
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup blueberries

Instructions

  1. Heat oven to 400 degrees.
  2. In a large bowl combine the streusel ingredients.
  3. Cut in butter until crumbly.
  4. Reserve 1/2 cup for the streusel topping.
  5. In the same bowl add all the muffin ingredients to streusel mixture.
  6. Stir until just moistened.
  7. Spoon into greased muffin pan.
  8. Sprinkle with reserved streusel mixture.
  9. Bake for 18-22 or until lightly browned.
  10. Let stand 5 minutes.
  11. Remove from pan
